What you will do to drive energy transition:

 

  • Coach leadership and staff to build their human performance behaviors and inspire them to achieve the objectives of zero incidents and environmental impacts

  • Increase the performance of hsse risk management across new opportunities, existing businesses and operations by working with teams in identifying, assessing, and mitigating significant risks to as low as reasonably practicable in a manner consistent with the performance aspirations of sonnen 

  • Support the leadership in creating a culture of care for people where everyone contributes to a safer, learning environment

  • Support the implementation of hse programs across regional entities and locations that promote delivery of goal zero.  This will require working closely with and influencing line of business leadership members and other key stakeholders

  • Where required, manage incident and non-compliance investigations, lead or participate in audits and reviews as required, identify and address continuous improvement opportunities including supporting and assuring compliance with local and regional health and safety regulations

  • Work with the local hsse manager and support the business in compliance with shell hsse control framework requirements in a risk based manner appropriate to the business environment

  • Assist the leadership team in the implementation and execution of the hsse management system, including hsse performance reporting, execution of due diligence. Assurance and governance processes

  • Work with the local health and safety manager and the business to collect, communicate and review hsse metrics and trends to both business and hsse teams and leadership so there is cross business alignment of areas of improvement and development

 

What you will need on that journey:

 

  • Successfully completed technical training as a plant electronics technician or completed degree in electrical engineering or equivalent

  • Strong working experience in the area health and safety management and in operating assets, business development and/or commercial business

  • Proven skill at delivery through influencing without direct authority

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management and liaison with multiple internal and external teams. Ability to communicate effectively across all business and operational levels of the organization as well as with suppliers and customers

  • Excellent change management skills

  • Practical experience in implementing environmental management, health, operational and/or behavioral safety

  • Performance driven with interest to excel in the power industry

  • Technical competencies in operational safety should be aligned to scope of operational activities to ensure effective management of hsse risks

  • Ability to perform and convince people of the value of risk assessment and mitigations appropriate to the risk and business environment is key to success in this role
