Manager Data Governance (m/f/d)

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Manager Data Governance to lead our organization's Data Governance initiatives. The Manager Data Governance will be responsible for developing and adapting the vision for data governance, aligning it with business and IT strategy, and defining strategic targets to ensure effective data management and compliance.

Being part of a global company with offices across continents will provide you with the unique experience of collaborating with an international team and designing Data solutions that will have an impact on sonnen’s business worldwide.

What you will do to help drive energy transition:

• You will develop and align data governance vision, mission, and goals with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• You will collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align data governance initiatives with the overall business strategy and IT architecture.
• You will establish clear responsibilities and roles within the data governance framework, including Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Data Custodians.
• You will define and communicate the data governance roadmap with priorities, milestones, and timelines; and develop plans to promote awareness and adoption.
• You will define quality gates and data standards for data integrity and compliance with local regulations, and establish a Data Dictionary for standardization.
• You will oversee metadata management and collaborate with Business Process Owners to align data governance with business processes and workflows.

What you will need on this journey:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3 years+) in a leadership role overseeing data governance or data management initiatives.
• Deep understanding of data governance principles, best practices, and industry standards.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, IT landscape, and data management technologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
• Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., finance, healthcare, energy) with knowledge of relevant data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO, NIS2).
• Proven experience in data governance (e.g., CDMP certification), Enterprise Architecture (e.g. TOGAF) or related fields are a plus.
