Join the energy revolution with #teamsonnen!

At sonnen, we’re driven by a clear goal: creating a future powered by clean, affordable energy for everyone. That’s why we make our customers independent – not only from fossil fuels, but also from rising electricity costs.

The key to this independence is our intelligent, all-in-one energy system. It combines solar panels, battery storage, energy tariffs, and wallboxes – all developed and manufactured in Germany.

As the first and only provider in Germany, we also connect thousands of home batteries into one shared network: the sonnenVPP, our industry-leading virtual power plant.

In short: every day, we’re working to shape the energy future. And we’d be thrilled to have you join us!

The “DSC” (Device and Site Control) team develops the control unit of each sonnenBatterie. The most important tasks are conception, planning, development and maintenance of the software. The team works according to the agile methods of the SCRUM framework. A team consists of architects, software developers and software testers located in Málaga (Spain) and Wildpoldsried (Germany).

As part of the “DSC Testing” team, you will create new test cases for testing the correct behaviour of our sonnenBatteries as well as designing, implementing and updating the testing repository of our sonnenBatteries. In the testing team we also take care of the test automation framework, the documentation and the good state of our systems with new software versions on residential and industrial battery systems.

What you will do to help drive energy transition:

  • Developing the test specification, test procedures and test tools for the automated tests of the sonnenBatterie in python.
  • Support and further development of the test hardware for automated software tests.
  • Direct collaboration with the software developers in the SCRUM team.
  • Creation of the test specification, execution of the manual and automated tests as well as reporting.

What you’ll bring:

  • Successfully completed studies in the field of electronics, computer science or with comparable experience.
  • You strive for a high degree of automation.
  • Experience in Python development and/or test automation is desirable.
  • Experience with inverters or battery systems
  • Ability to work in a team, strong communication skills as well as a goal and solution-oriented way of thinking and working.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English.
