What you will do to help drive energy transition:

 

  • Capturing, analyzing, and managing system requirements for battery storage systems, in close coordination with product management, system architects, developers, and other stakeholders 

  • Creating, reviewing, and maintaining specifications and requirement documents for internally and externally supported development processes and system requirements

  • Deriving and structuring technical requirements for hardware and software, as well as defining interfaces within the storage system

  • Ensuring traceability and consistency of requirements throughout the entire development cycle

  • Supporting the development of test cases for requirements verification

  • Conducting requirement reviews and coordinating with internal and external partners

  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and methods in requirements management

 

What you will need for that journey:

 

  • Completed studies in electrical engineering, mechatronics, system engineering, automotive engineering, or a comparable field

  • Experience in requirements engineering, ideally in the development of battery systems or similar technical products

  • Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., Jama Connect, DOORS, Polarion, ReqIF, or similar)

  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations for battery storage systems (ISO 26262, IEC 62109, IEC 62619, UL 1973, UL 9540, UL 9540A)

  • Experience with modeling methods (SysML, UML) is an advantage

  • Sonnen handles technically complex projects, so ideally you have in-depth knowledge of battery systems, inverters, or a developer background

  • Strong analytical skills as well as a structured and solution-oriented working approach

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary projects

  • Very good English skills in speaking and writing, German skills are an advantage
