Commercial Managing Director (m/w/d) Egypt

What you will do to drive the energy transition:
- You take responsibility for the commercial and operational functions at our Cairo site, including HR, Finance, Procurement and IT, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across the organization.
- You lead and develop the local HR function with a strong focus on people, culture and organizational development, ensuring a professional and supportive environment for our growing engineering organization.
- You act as a key member of the local site leadership and work closely with the global organization to ensure alignment with company policies, processes and strategic priorities.
- You oversee core administrative and commercial processes such as budgeting, financial coordination, procurement processes and IT operations, ensuring transparency, compliance and operational excellence.
- You act as a liaison between sonnen and various government agencies in Egypt and represent sonnen Egypt externally towards industry bodies, universities and other stakeholders in Egypt.
- You support managers and team leads in all people-related topics including recruiting, employee development, performance management and organizational planning.
- You ensure compliance with local labor law, company policies and internal governance standards while maintaining a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
- You drive continuous improvement of internal processes and structures within the support functions to enable a scalable and efficient organization as the site evolves.
- You act as the central point of coordination between the Cairo site and global functions such as HR, Finance, Legal and IT.
What you will need on that journey:
- You hold a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance or a comparable field.
- You are used to work with a second Managing Director (Tech Lead) in a well-aligned team.
- You have several years of experience in HR, business operations or a comparable leadership role, ideally in an international company.
- You have strong experience in people leadership and enjoy building and developing teams in a dynamic environment.
- You bring solid understanding of commercial and operational processes such as HR management, finance coordination, procurement or administration.
- You are familiar with Egyptian labor law and HR practices.
- You have strong organizational and communication skills and are comfortable working in a cross-cultural and international environment.
