As the Team Lead Backend Engineering (d/f/m) you will lead a team of backend and full-stack engineers. You will guide the engineering team in making the best architectural and design decisions helping the product owners of the Delivery Platform department in developing high-end products and helping sonnen to scale. Your leadership and technical expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the company and its efforts to drive the energy transition.

 

What you will do to drive the energy transition:

 

  • You'll help your team members excel by providing mentorship, guidance, and support, enabling them to reach their full potential as engineers.

  • You'll oversee the hiring process and ensure the team's growth by helping individuals chart their career paths and develop their skills.

  • You'll coach your team to improve the quality of outcomes, technical alignment, and growth, facilitating rapid iterations.

  • You'll play an active role in maintaining the quality of the software engineering process, ensuring that best practices are followed.

  • You'll provide guidance on architectural design standards and promote adherence to agile software engineering principles.

  • You’ll lead your team to foster collaboration both within the Delivery Platform department and beyond, encouraging cooperation with other teams.

  • You'll work closely with other leaders, such as the VP Delivery Platform, product owners, scrum masters, and fellow team leads, to align on strategies and goals.

 

What you will need on that journey:

 

  • You are an experienced leader who can effectively communicate, support personal growth, and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills.

  • A strong track record of developing software solutions, ideally using the technologies such as Python, Django, AWS Lambda, Terraform, PostgreSQL, Sentry, GitLab, and/or GitHub.

  • A good understanding of microservices and clean code principles will enable you to guide the team in building scalable and maintainable systems.

  • Proficiency in different testing strategies to ensure the reliability and stability of applications and components.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration within our international team.

  • Fluency in English is required, and additional languages could be advantageous.

  • Passion for the Mission: Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic team with a vision to digitize the energy transition is essential for this role.
