Our Virtual Power Plant is a one-of-a-kind platform to provide grid services with sonnenBatterie-systems. By connecting household batteries to our VPP, sonnen allows its customers to participate in ancillary services such as frequency control and demand response, further enabling the renewable energy revolution.

 

What you will do to help drive energy transition:

 

  • Contribute to our distributed Virtual Power Plant
  • Design solutions for data ingestion, real-time processing, and persistence
  • Improve the scalability and fault-tolerance of our systems
  • Implement protocols, backend services and client features

 

What you will need for that journey:

 

  • Experience with Elixir/Erlang or motivation to learn it. We hire at all experience levels.
  • Experience with another functional programming language (e.g. Clojure, OCaml, Haskell, or Scala), Python or Rust are a plus.
  • Interest in running distributed systems reliable at scale.
  • A solid knowledge of (distributed) databases.
  • Being comfortable with Linux / Unix.
  • Familiarity with Virtualization and Containarization.
  • Fluency in English. German is a plus.
